Sub-Zero Refrigerator Water Filters

Back in 1943, Westye F. Bakke built the world's first built-in freestanding freezer in his home basement in Madison, Wisconsin. Two years later, he founded Sub-Zero Freezer Company in an old two-car garage, according to www.subzero-wolf.com. Now, more than half a century later, the company has a long-standing reputation of manufacturing attractive, innovative products. From that original built-in freestanding freezer, the company has now expanded to produce refrigerators and wine cooling units, as well as accessories like refrigerator water filters.

The Sub-Zero Refrigerator Water Filter for the PRO 48 refrigeration system (model 4204490) supplies filtered water to provide great-tasting ice and refreshing clean water. The 4204490 Refrigeration Water Filter model has an NSF/ANSI Standard of 42 and 53 (National Sanitation Foundation/American National Standards Institute). This means that in addition to improving the aesthetic value of your drinking water by reducing the taste and odor of chlorine and clearing your water of particulates, this filter is also able to reduce health-related contaminants.

Sub-Zero Refrigerator Water Filter 4204490 can significantly reduce Asbestos, Atrazine, Benzene, Carbofuran, Chlorine, Cysts, 1,4-Dichlorobenzene, Lead, Lindane, Mercury, Particulates, Toxaphene, and turbidity of your drinking and cooking water. The Sub-Zero brand also offers fridge filters that are specifically anti-microbial and claim to be able to reduce viruses and bacteria in your water by 99.9%. This type of fridge filter will be especially useful in areas where the municipal water source is not reliable.

Unlike most other brands, the Sub-Zero water filter cartridge is designed to last for up to a year. However, the company suggests that the cartridge should be immediately replaced when the indicator reads "REPLACE FILTER". An important note: If the refrigeration unit or the icemaker has been turned off for at least a month, the water filter cartridge should be replaced once the unit is back in operation.
