Our 2"x8" ceramic filter fits most countertop and emergency preparedness filter systems and popular drinking water systems from Berkey® and others. This bacteriostatic nano-silver coated ceramic filter removes 99.999% of bacteria such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia down to .2 microns as confirmed by an FDA Registered Laboratory.
The Ceramic filter is filled with pharmaceutical grade carbon and other special adsorbents to remove:
- 99% of Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S)
- 99% of Chlorine and Chloramines
- 98% of Lead as well as Pesticides, Herbicides, Cryptosporidium, Giardia, Mercury, Phenols, MTBE, Perchlorate, Trihalomethanes, Hydrocarbons, Rodenticides, Flouride, PFOA's, Methyl t-butyl ether, Benzene, Chromium, Ammonium Perchlorate and more.
Once you start using the filter, the carbon based media is good for about 1 year, depending upon the quality of water. The ceramic shell, which is filtering out the bacteria, will last between 1-2 years. Replacing the filter depends upon the flow rate. If the flow rate is very slow even after cleaning the filter, it should be replaced or if the filter has been cleaned 100 times.
