How To Install The ClearChoice CLCH105 Filter:How To Install Filter?

Shut off the main water supply valve to the refrigerator
Remove old cartridge by grasping firmly and twisting counterclockwise 1/4 turn
Push new filter into the filter receiver and turn 1/4 turn clockwise until it locks
Turn on the main water supply valve to the refrigerator
Flush the refrigerator water system after replacing the water filter cartridge. Sputtering may occur until air is purged from water line and filter
Reset water filter status display - replace filter every 6 months

We've used these before, so we reordered another set of three filters. These had a slightly different design for the O-rings. We put in one and it leaked like hell all over the frig and floor. We took it out and reinstalled it 3-4 times. After mopping up the last time, we tried another new filter and it worked perfectly the first time. There was no obvious difference between the two, but the one has been working fine for a week without any leaks. We have one more -- I hope it works the first time too.

The filter fit great and seems to do the trick but there is a plastic like after taste in the filtered water that wasn't present before when using the Samsung brand filter. The filter has been in for weeks now and it still seems to be present. I plan to swap with another filter and see if the taste persists.

Unable to review this product as we have not had to use it yet - hence the 3 stars. We put in our last filter before ordering these so it could be a year before we have to replace it. Our water is filtered once or twice (I can't remember which) before it get to the freezer filter so it last at least 1 one year in lieu of the usual 6 months.

I purchased a 3 pack of filters for my new Samsung refrigerator, I changed the filter and followed the directions and the water tasted really bad. I called customer service and they said to try another filter and did and it tasted better but not as good as the Samsung filter that I replaced. Excellent, I have been using Discount Filters for several years now originally with a GE and now a Samsung these filters are horribly expensive and I was very Larry of trying them. However as my GE got older, I risked it and it was a great surprise, I usually buy three at a time and the second one gave me a problem as it did not set up well in its holder. I bought this 3 pack of filters for my refrigerator because of the price. Guess I should have passed on them because the first one I put in has an intermittent leak. Doesn't leak all the time, and it has only been installed for a week, but I had to wipe up water from the filter area several times after I put the new filter in. I inspected it before I put it in and noticed that it only had one O-Ring on the head of the filter, where the OE filter I replaced had two O-Rings, maybe that's the problem. I haven't seen any water leaks in the past couple of days, so maybe it's OK now, but I wouldn't think there should be ANY leakage at all, thus the 3 stars.

The filter fits perfectly, no leaks, and a great price but it makes the water taste bad. They sent me a second filter but it still tastes bad. We flushed several gallons of water through both filters but that didn't help. Our tap water tastes fine on its own and this made it worse. I really wanted to like these but sadly I can recommend.

The CleaerChoice filters are much more reasonably priced than the Samsung filters and DiscountFilters is much much cheaper than Home Depot or Samsung.com. As far as I can tell, the filters are working well. DiscountFIlters provided fast service and I like the reminders to order.

I’m only giving it 4 stars because I’ve only had it installed for a couple weeks. If its 5 to 6 months before it has to be replaced as the factory one lasted then I would give it a full 5 stars. The price is really good. 6 filters for less then I could buy 2 Samsung filters for. Water tastes same as it did before. Pressure is the same. My only concern is it has 1 O-Ring where the factory had 2. So far seems a good quality product for a much better price.

I never give a 5 star rating so these 4 stars constitutes high praise of the Discount Water Filters. Given the High Price tag for original equipment filters, I tried these shortly after purchasing our refrigerator. The water taste great and they consistently last six months. Over the Seven plus years we have been using them, I have only had one that leaked and that could have been attributed to "user error". Given the price I would highly recommend them.

Very easy to change in < 30 seconds. Just locate the cylindrical front of tube between vegetables drawers in the fridge side (directly in center of fridge and unscrew turning counter clockwise. A small amount of water came out with the filter on kitchen floor (two paper towels got that up). Screw in new filter turning clockwise. Bam, done. Filters last aprx 6 months so bought the 6-pack.

The first filter in the 3-pack seems to be working just fine. I love the cost compared to the name brand version. The only concern is that there was only one rubber ring on the replacement while on the original, there were 2 rubber rings. As an engineer, I can't help but think that there was likely a reason for the second rubber ring and wonder if there will be a problem.

Great product, work just like the triple priced Samsung brand ones do. Also like to say how wonderful their customer service is! I had problems getting my filter to go in. Tried both from package and still wouldn't go in even though my old one (exactly like the new ones) would go back in. I called VS who said they had not changed anything but would send 2 new ones out anyway. I didn't have to mess with trying to return the opened ones. It turned out my part in the refrigerator was broken and needed to be replaced (no sin as it was 8 yrs old). Once fixed the Clear Choice for in perfectly just like always. After a LOT of running water through the filter to "clear it out" of the carbon particles that are likely in there, the taste finally was normal. It just seemed like there was far too much of that... moreso than usual on other filters. The instructions made it sound like it needed very little "bleed out" volume, but the taste said otherwise.

So far these filters are working fine. Time will only tell how they last compared to the name brands. Price wise they are excellent. This filter is very easy to replace but they need to inform buyer to run about a glassful of water through filter rite after install. If not, filters will leak water into freshener. (original filter will do the same) If I missed this information somewhere, disregard the leaking problem. My biggest complaint with this company is, even though they do have FREE shipping (and that is great) it did take 6 working days (8 total days) to get the filters to me and I live 1 state away. I called them about this and they pointed out that it does state it could take 2 to 20 days to receive. (guess I missed that too) Sure glad i don't live 6 or 10 states away. All in all I am happy with this purchase.

Not too sure that these filters are "equivalent" to the original, water pressure is too high now! Jury is still out, maybe cheaper because they are cheaper made, OEM had two O-rings where replacement only has one!

This is defiantly as good as the manufacture brand. Our problem is the ice in the door despencer is cloudy and we were told by Samsung customer service that a new filter would fix this problem but it didn’t. However, I feel this is a refrigerator problem not a filter problem.

To be completely honest, I was skeptical about ordering a filter that was only a fraction of the cost for an OEM branded one. This is our second replacement filter for our ice maker since we purchased our refrigerator last year. So far we have had no issues with the filter and are satisfied with the purchase.
