Given to the age of this house and the inaccessibility of the air ducts (too small of a crawl space) this filter reduces the particulates and the dust to my satisfaction. Even so, it has indeed reduced the amount of particulates and dust filtering through the vents! The only complaint I would have is that sometimes the housing of the filter is crushed and/or bent--but with some effort is fixable for use.
