I bought this product because of a review in regards to an ice maker. My ice maker was not working properly as my ice was freezing together in chunks, with the Bypass it allowed more water faster to the ice machine and now it works perfect. I have had several repair people look at my ice machine and nobody had an answer.

Nothing on the web site says anything about how long the filter will last but after purchasing the filter and on the filter itself it says good for only 1 year.. Why would this be?

It looks like they just use a filter without any of the guts. Would be better if there was some sort of wall inside the empty housing so the entire thing doesn't need to fill. Also, because the entire thing fills with water, under pressure, if removed, it sprays water all over the fridge while it depressurizes.

This is exactly what I needed! I have RO filtered H2O feeding my refrigerator, so I do not need a standard filter. This bypass filter improved the pressure and waterflow issue I was seeing while running a filter. This filter popped right in, and worked as expected.
