Aprilaire / Space-Gard #501 High Efficiency Filtering Media (2-Pack)
The Aprilaire/Space-Gard Model 5000 Air Cleaner uses filters to purify the air. Each expandable accordion-style filter traps and removes particles and odors from indoor air. Each filter lasts from six to 24 months, depending on the level of pollutants and amount of air processed. To change the filter, simply snap the media into the plastic frame. The media expands and begins making the air clean and healthy.

It was my own fault that I ordered the wrong size. I called the company and was thoughtfully told how to order the correct size and how to print a pre-paid UPS address lable for a free return of the mistake for a full refund. The correct size arrived before I could take the the return to the UPS Store. A most rare and plesant buying experience!

The filters are the best value that I could find after a 15 minute internet search. They arrived in good order as promised. Installation instructions were on the box. It took me about 20 minutes to install (first time doing it), including cleaning the filter housing. Now that I know what I'm doing, the next time should be quicker.

This filter is good for at least a year. It takes up more space than the conventional furnace filter, but the accordian pleats provide a huge surface area. It's a little awkward removing and replacing the filter element, but the directions are easy to follow.

I have used this product for years and have had good results in both keeping ductwork clean and providing filtered air for living spaces. Highly recommended for central air heating and cooling systems. Requires the proper mounting enclosure for filter installation. I recommend buying Aprilaire Space-Gard products when it comes to quality filtration media.
