Amana Refrigerator Water Filters
The Amana Corporation produced the first upright freezer for the home, and later added a side-by-side refrigerator. The company eventually started manufacturing air conditioners a few years later in the 1950's. Since Amana was acquired by Maytag in 2001, Whirlpool now controls the brand, according to www.amana.com.
Amana continues to manufacture numerous appliances such as refrigerators, freezers, cooking appliances, dishwashers, washing machines and dryers. They also manufacture cooking, cooling and heating appliances. In addition, Amana also produces a number of accessories for some of its major appliances, including refrigerator water filters. Like Whirlpool, the company mostly creates appliances for domestic use.
The Amana Clean n' Clear 12527304 Refrigerator filter uses a simple twist design for easy installation. It is normally found on the inside of the refrigerator, above the top shelf. The model works for both Kenmore and Amana refrigerators and has an average filter life of around 300 gallons or six months, whichever comes first.
The Amana PuriClean II Refrigerator filter model UKF8001 works with refrigerators made my Maytag, Whirlpool, Jenn-Air, Amana and KitchenAid. This water filter model has a life of 750 gallons or six months. Unlike Whirlpool filters that can usually be found on the base of refrigerators in the outside, Amana filters are usually found on the inside of units, usually underneath the highest shelf toward the rear of the refrigerator.
Both models have NSF Standards of 42 and 53. This means the filters can both improve the taste of your water and make it completely safe for you to drink. They remove 99% of chlorine, Class 1 particles and sediments that may affect the taste of your water. The filter also removes 99% of cysts, turbidity, lead and asbestos.
