LG Refrigerator Water Filters
LG (Lucky Goldstar) is one of the two largest conglomerates of South Korea along with Samsung.
LG was the first Korean company to delve into plastics. As the plastics business expanded, they eventually diversified into consumer electronics and produced South Korea's first radio under the Goldstar name, according to www.lg.com. Today LG produces electronics (LG Electronics), telecommunications products (LG Telecom) and chemicals (LG Chem).
LG has established a reputation as one of the world's most trusted home appliance brands. The company has also taken to making accessories such as refrigerator water filters. The LG 5231JA2006A and LG 5231JA2002A models have NSF/ANSI (National Sanitation Foundation/American National Standards Institute) Standards of 42. Both have been tested to reduce the taste and odor of chlorine and particulate. LG also has available filters that are NSF/ANSI Standard 42 and 53 certified. So unlike the LG 5231JA2006A and LG 5231JA2002A models, LG 5231JA2006B and LT 700P are able to remove cysts, harmful elements (mercury and lead), chemicals (2,4 D, Atrazine, Benzene and Lindane), turbidity and other pathogenic waterborne microorganisms.
Water filter manufacturers like LG encourage consumers to regularly replace their filters. If not replaced in time, the filters may no longer be able to strain out pathogens as effectively.
