MERV 11 Expanded Cartridge Filter for Aprilaire/Space-Gard 2200 / 2250 - MERV 11 (2-Pack)
With a high efficiency air filter, the indoor air in your home stays pure and healthy. To breathe easier, regularly replace the filter in your air cleaner. This pleated filter captures dangerous contaminants and particulates that might be floating in your home. It removes dust, pollen, smoke and other allergens as well as odors from smoking, cooking, the bathroom and pets. The deep pleats and electrostatically charged media trap particulates as small as 1 micron. Its sturdy design includes a galvanized metal grid and 28 point beverage board that resists moisture. Change the filter at least once every six months or sooner, especially if your indoor air includes high particulate levels or if you set the fan to run continuously. To install a replacement filter, remove the saturated filter from the plastic housing, insert the new filter and push it into the air cleaner’s cabinet. Regular replacement ensures your home’s indoor air remains healthy and clean.

Previously, I used to buy just the filter media and then have to install it within the cabinet myself.
It was time consuming and difficult to get the media evenly expanded over the entire exposed surface of the frame.

2nd time for this filter since i have broken spacers and do not want to replace them. Filter works fine but the flimsy cardboard spacers are not parallel to the pleats and block airflow if not individually straightened. It took me as long as installing with spacers. The Merv 11 seems to be better than the original.
If my spacers were intact, I'd buy the generic that requires spacers.I knew what I was getting and still ordered the 2nd time which says the pros outweigh the cons.

The original filter for the central A/C unit used plastic combs to separate the folds of the filter paper, but the combs broke easily and were difficult to re-install. These replacement filters don't require the plastic combs. It makes my annual filter replacement quick 'n easy. I wish they weren't quite so expensive though. Maybe I could blow off the dirt/dust or clean them somehow and get an extra 6 months to a year out of them.

The MERV 11 Expanded Filters are a time saver and collected just as much dust as the original Space-Gard 2200 type filters. NO MESS or aligning spacers! I have used these for at least 3 years and replace 3-4 times a year.

The "change filter" indicator on your refrigerator may be a simple timer or flow device. Consult your refrigerator owner’s manual for instruction on resetting the indicator when replacing your filter. It will not happen automatically!
