Description

The Ready Accessories WF-41699C is designed to replace the GE RPWF filter cartridge.  It is used is used in Bottom-freezer and Side-by-Side refrigerators by GE.  The WF-41699C uses avanced carbon block technology to create better tasting water for drinking and making beverages as well as clean, clearer, healthy ice.

Filter Location:

Bottom-freezer (BF) refrigerators:
Filter is located in the left hand fresh food door (recessed in door flange) or in the fresh food interior on the left side wall near the top

Side-by-Side (SxS) refrigerators:
Filter is located in the bottom of the fresh food compartment.  Access the filter using the flip cover without moving the vegetable pan



The Ready Accessories WF-41699C is compatible with the following obsolete or alternate filter part numbers:

  • RPWF
  • WSG-4

How To Install The Ready Accessories WF-41699C Filter:

  1. Remove old cartridge by gently lifting the filter away from housing until first release, and then lift again to remove.
  2. Align top of filter with cartridge holder and push until cartridge is fully seated.
  3. While continuing to ensure cartridge is fully seated in the holder, gently rotate the filter (inward for BF models and downward for SxS models) until it can no longer rotate.
  4. Run water from the dispenser (approximately 2 gallons or about 5 minutes) to clear any particles and remove air from the system.

leaky, yet good

Comments:

This filter is working well for us after I replaced the o ring with the one off of the GE brand filter before it. No matter what it would not install leak free until I tried replacing the o ring. The price is nice an we deem it to be worthwhile to buy o rings at the hardware if necessary. After running a gallon or two of water through the unit, the dye was cleared and we find the taste and clarity to be the same as the "original" filters.

Refrigerator water filter

Comments:

The filter will attach properly to my GE refrigerator but the filter diameter is slightly larger than the GE original so the filter door will not close completely. This is not a deal breaker give the price difference but I would prefer that a "equivalent part" be the correct size. This filter may fit properly in other models.

Comments:

Been using this filter for a few weeks now. No difference as far as I can tell over the original. Follow the directions and flush some water through before taking your first drink. No leaks and the flow rate seems to be just fine. I'll purchase it again when the time comes.
