A push-tab design will generally have a tab located at the very front of the filter housing. If this is the type you have, open the housing by pushing the tab. When you do, this will cause it to release a latch. Hold that latch and turn it counterclockwise. This causes the filter to pop out slightly and allows you to pull it out.

A secondary option is to locate the pull tab on the housing and pull it forward to release the same latch. In both cases, follow the same steps in reverse to insert the new SGF-G22 filter. Afterwards, run a gallon or more of water through the filter before consuming any water from your fridge.

It is often recommended by refrigerator manufacturers to change your filter on a regular basis. How frequently depends on your overall use, though you should do so at least one time every six months.
