Know Your Fridge Filter: HAF-CIN-EXP

Everyone loves a glass of clear, cool, and refreshing water on a hot and balmy summer day. Getting water from the tap in your refrigerator is a great way to hydrate and quench your need for refreshment. However, if you have an old water filter in your refrigerator, you might not be getting the cleanest water. Over time, refrigerator filters begin to deteriorate, leaving you susceptible to ingest mildew, bacteria, mold, and many more harmful substances. You can prevent this from happening by choosing the HAF-CIN-EXP filter as a replacement.

How the Filter Works

As an aftermarket replacement for the common DA29-00020B filter, the HAF-CIN-EXP filter works by using activated carbon to collect debris from your water supply. Activated carbon is able to adsorb even the smallest particles because of its highly porous surface, making it extremely effective at delivering clean and delicious water straight to you at the press of a button.

The process begins when water flows from your tap line into your refrigerator. As it enters the filter, it is pushed through until it reaches the activated carbon chamber on the inside. The carbon is able to grab and hold on to many hazardous substances that occur in your tap water, such as cysts, chlorine, lead, bacteria, mold, and asbestos. These stick to the carbon, allowing clear and safe water to flow out of the filter and into your waiting glass.

How to Install the HAF-CIN-EXP Filter

Installing your discount fridge filter is easier than it sounds. The first step is to find the filter, which is usually placed in the upper right hand corner of the fridge. There are two different installation methods depending on the type of release.

For push tab releases:

  1. Push the front tab until you feel the latch release.
  2. Turn the filter clockwise until you can pull it out.
  3. Add the new filter by inserting it and turning it counterclockwise until it locks in place.

For pull tab releases:

  1. Pull the recessed tab on the underside of the filter until you feel the latch release.
  2. Give the filter a quarter turn counterclockwise until you can pull it out.
  3. Add the new filter by inserting it and turning it clockwise until it locks in place.

And that’s it! When the new filter is secured, always be sure to flush two gallons of water through your refrigerator before you use it for drinking.

Replace Your Filter Regularly

Now that you have delicious and clean water, you’ll never want to go back to the dangers and poor taste of unfiltered water. Therefore, it is essential to replace your refrigerator water filter regularly. Unfortunately, the activated carbon chamber inside the filter does not last forever, as it begins to degrade over time. It is a good idea to change your filter once every six months to ensure your water is safe and viable for drinking.
