Comments about GE FXHTC Whole House Carbon Water Filter:
I had the Whirlpool replacement filter. I replaced it after 25,000 gallons. I decided to try the GE replacement filter. It is a great filter and filters better than the whirlpool one, but the GE filter is much more restrictive. I have a booster pump and I noticed a significant pressure drop from the old filter to the newer filter. The price between the two is comparable.
Bottom line: If you can afford to lose water pressure, the GE filter will be a great filter. If you can't, I recommend the Whirlpool filter.
