The replacement for the FC40R Return Grille Filter is a high-efficiency, long-life replacement for return grille applications. It captures a significant amount of the airborne particles in the air that circulate through the filter. (Honeywell recommends allowing a depth of seven inches behind the grille to provide space for the deeper filter and airflow through the filter.)
Honeywell recommends changing your filter once a year. It may be necessary to replace it sooner depending on the conditions in your home.

excellent products, great service

This product is used for my heat pump, so it is in use all year round. I have one 14X20 and 2 20X20 returns,and they are difficult to reach, but these filters are very easy to install and uninstall, fit perfectly and since they are 5 inch filters do an excellent job for a whole year. I would not use any others. Service is also excellent. I have ordered the wrong 20 inch ones two years in a row, and both times the company has very kindly and quickly sent the correct filters, and allowed me to send the incorrect ones back free of charge. Service is exemplary, orders are received very quickly.

BOTTOM LINE: Yes, I recommend this product

The quality for the value is great! It is ashame such a large box is used. Having said that, I am from a mfg. purchasing background. I assume the standard box size is more economical. Delivery - outstanding!

These replaced same kind of filters that had been installed more than a year ago. They had done a very good job, and did not "shed" the dust they had collected as others we had used did. The ducts were new when those were installed, and they looked surprisingly clean to me after having had the same filters inside for more than a year!
