With a maximum filtration capacity of 200 gallons, it produces clean water at a flow rate of half a gallon per minute. To maintain clean and clear water, change the filter once every six months. While this filter is not designed for Fast Fill or PUR Measure dispensers, it does cleanse water the refrigerator uses to make ice and dispense for drinking and cooking purposes.

We needed a new water filter for a fridge about 2 months after we moved into the house. I had never replaced one before, but it was easy to do. We waited a little too long to replace the old one, so the water tasted funky. The new filter fixed that, so I bought a pack of 3 so we wouldn't fall back on laziness and nasty tasting water again!

If you have a 6-month filter, schedule your filter changes when daylight savings changes. When you "spring forward" or "fall back" setting clocks around the house, change your filter at the same time.
