The town that I live in heavily chlorinates the drinking water supply. This filter removes the lousy taste of chlorine. The water that comes out of the filter tastes just as good as bottled water, but is a lot more convenient to use. The ice cubes from my icemaker also have that terrible chlorine taste removed.

This filter is for my refrigerator water supply, and although the water doesn't taste as good as that which has gone through a pitcher-type carbon filter, it is convenient. I am happy that my family has an unlimited supply of filtered water for drinking and for ice! I change the filter two or three times a year.

If you are using a fiberglass panel filter, consider upgrading to a pleated filter. Pleated media means longer filter life and improved air cleaning capabilities.
