Tap water from well and municipal sources can include impurities that make the water taste bad or appear dirty. Refrigerator water filters like the aftermarket Swift Green SGF-DSA21 reduce contaminants. Using activated carbon, this filter traps and removes sediment, chlorine, lead, rust and other impurities. It allows Samsung, Kenmore and other refrigerator brands to dispense water at a flow rate of 0.75 gallons per minute. After the filter processes 300 gallons of water, when the flow rate decreases or at least once every six months, change the filter. The appliance provides clean and healthy water and ice when the filter is regularly replaced.

This filter did not fit properly, which caused a constant leak just below the seal. The filter appeared slightly smaller than the factory original. I read the directions several times, which are obvious, and attempted to trouble shoot, but my efforts were met with negative results.
***A positive note; I sent customer service a message regarding my trouble and they refunded my money without question, and sent a 10% off coupon code for a factory replacement filter.***
If you have a Samsung refrigerator needing the same replacement filter, I just cannot see the aftermarket product being of use. My advice is to just ante up and buy the original, and avoid wasting your time.
