The aftermarket Supco model WF295 filter is used in refrigerators by Maytag, Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Amana, Jenn-Air, Viking and others. It is designed to replace the original UKF8001 or UKF8001AXX Filter. The WF295 filter creates better tasting water for drinking and making beverages as well as clean, clearer, healthy ice.

The water filter cartridge is typically located in the back upper right corner of the refrigerator compartment. Release filter cover either by pushing button or pulling forward (depending on type of cover). The filter cover will hang down at an angle. The filter cartridge should be replaced when water change indicator says it's time to replace the filter or if the flow of water to the dispenser or icemaker decreases. For refrigerators without a filter change indicator, replace the filters every 6 months.

It did take overnight before the fridge again provided water. It simply took that long for the filter to fill up and dispense.

The water comes out too fast as if the filter is not as good. Splashes out, especially with ice. Chlorine taste began about a week after installing. I bought 3, so I will need to wait and see.

The "change filter" indicator on your refrigerator may be a simple timer or flow device. Consult your refrigerator owner’s manual for instruction on resetting the indicator when replacing your filter. It will not happen automatically!
