Description
When you dispense water and ice from your refrigerator, you expect it to be clean and clear. Particulates and contaminants, however, might be present in your water supply. They can make the water appear and taste dirty. The aftermarket Supco WF285 removes these dangerous and unwanted additives. With carbon media, the filter traps and removes chlorine odor and taste, turbidity, rust, lime scale, dirt, lead and other particulates. Along with removing contaminants, the filter processes water at a flow rate of 0.5 gallons per minute. Every six months or if the water quality or flow rate decreases, you should change the filter. Twist the saturated filter out of the appliance grille, insert the new filter and flush the system for several minutes. With a clean filter in place, your Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Amana, Thermidor or other major refrigerator brand provides clean and clear water and ice.

How To Install The Supco WF285 Filter:
|
The water filter cartridge is located in the grille at the bottom of the refrigerator. The filter cartridge should be replaced when the replacement indicator light turns red or if the flow of water to the dispenser or icemaker decreases. For refrigerators without an indicator light, replace the filters every 6 months.
- Turn off icemaker
- Remove old filter by rotating cap about 1/4 turn counter-clockwise
- Pull the old filter cartridge out
- Remove the cartridge grille cap by sliding it off the end of the old cartridge
- Slide the cartridge grille cap onto the new cartridge
- With the new cartridge cap in the vertical position, insert the new filter cartridge into the base grille
- Rotate the cap clockwise to a horizontal position
- Flush three gallons of water through the filter cartridge before use
- Turn on the icemaker
