How To Install The WF1CB Filter:

Unscrew filter cup by turning gently counterclockwise. Emtpy water in cup
Pull the old filter straight down and discard
Place the new filter in the filter cup - with side with O-rings facing up
Push filter/filter cup assemby into filter head
Twist assembly clockwise to tighten into housing
Run water from the dispenser for 3 minutes (about 1-1/2 gallons) to clear the system and prevent sputtering
Press and hold reset water filter button if your fridge has one
Replace filter every 6 months

Refrigerator Water Filter Tip #4:

The main ingredient in almost all water filters is activated carbon, which is a form of carbon that has been processed to make it extremely porous and thus to have a very large surface area available for absorption of chemicals and impurities.

There are three different refrigerator water filters to choose from when you need to replace a model WF1CB filter. All three water filters will remove the chlorine, lead and other impurities from the drinking water and ice produced by the refrigerator. Each of the filters should be replaced every 6 months to make sure your water and ice remain pure and contaminant free. If you do not replace the filter in a timely manner, then it will not work properly and will start to allow chemicals to enter your drinking water.

The first two filters are aftermarket replacement refrigerator filters that are manufactured by WaterSentinel and AquaFresh. Both products will work in Frigidaire and Kenmore refrigerators. While the filters are not factory original products, they are made to the same standards as the original product to make sure that the water remains pure. The only difference between the two aftermarket filters is a slight difference in pressure range.

The third model WF1CB refrigerator water filter is a factory original product manufactured by Frigidaire. Since the water filter is a factory original product, it is made with OEM parts and has been tested against filtration standards set by NSF International. This cannot be said about the two aftermarket fridge filters.
