How To Install The 5231JA2006B Filter:

Remove old filter cartridge by grasping and turning counter clockwise about 1/4 turn - discard
Push new filter into the filter head until it stops
Turn the new filter 1/4 turn clockwise until it stops
Flush new cartridge by dispensing water for about 5 minutes
Replace cartridge once every 6 months
Press and hold reset water filter button if your fridge has one

This original factory filter fits the LG brand of refrigerators and is rated to remove cysts from your water, unlike the 5231JA2006A model, which does not remove cysts. If you do not need to remove cysts from your water, then the A model will be a better choice. It has a 300 gallon capacity, with a pressure range of 30 to 120 PSI. It operates in the 33 to 100 degree temperature range and dispenses water at a rate of half a gallon per minute. It is easy to replace, and should be replaced every six months or so, depending on how much it is used.

Whenever you notice a funny odor or taste to your water, you should replace your filter because the filter is about used up at this point. No tools are needed to change the filter; all you need to do is rotate and pull the old filter out, then push the new filter and rotate until it snaps into place.
