Brita On-Tap Basic Faucet Filtration System (OPFF-100)
Tap water contains a variety of unappetizing and dangerous contaminants and particulates. The Brita faucet filtration system conveniently screws onto your kitchen faucet and removes these dangerous tap water elements. The system meets NSF International Standards 53 and 42. In order to meet these standards, the system must reduce chlorine odor and taste as well as lead, asbestos, cysts and other unhealthy tap water particulates. As the filter traps contaminants, a mechanical meter on the filter changes from green to red. When the meter turns red, replace the saturated filter. You can prolong the filter system’s life by flipping the attached switch. It allows you to alternate between filtered and unfiltered water. For clean and healthy water straight from the tap, use this faucet filtration system.

- switches from filtered to unfiltered water with one switch
- NSF certified to meet Standards 53 and 42
- removes cysts, turbidity, lead, asbestos, chlorine and other unhealthy particulates
- provides healthy and clean water from the tap

Comments about Brita On-Tap Basic Faucet Filtration System (OPFF-100):
I bought this product because it received a good rating from Consumer Reports. It was easy to install. The only downside about this filter is that if it gets bumped it pops off the faucet easily, but I had to use the adapter that came with it so that might have something to do with it.

This is a handy product, the problem is the light sensor. It is hard to detect whether the light is green or red. Other than that, there was no problem.

Comments about Brita On-Tap Basic Faucet Filtration System (OPFF-100):
I tried to install the unit following the instructions in the manual, but the washer provided was so large for the unit that there was no way for the threads in the filter to reach the threads in the faucet. I tried the adapters, but they did not remedy the problem. Had to return the unit - very frustrated!

Comments about Brita On-Tap Basic Faucet Filtration System (OPFF-100):
I live in a fraternity, where the only source of water is out of a tap. I used to own a Brita Pitcher Filter, but the water was still not quite up to par. I also read that it did not remove cysts. So I decided to buy this faucet model instead and I've had some good results with it.
This filter is relatively easy to install. Since many people use the sinks we have, I add and remove it every time I need water to conserve filters. Besides the occasional difficulty of getting it started, it screws in nicely to the sink and creates a good seal. The water that comes out of it tastes awesome, almost at the level of bottled water. Also I know that what I'm drinking is pure, as cysts and harmful chemicals are removed.
The only negative thing I could say about this filter is that it occasionally leaks through the filter-remove button when the water pressure is high.
Overall, a great filter. Good work Brita!

Comments about Brita On-Tap Basic Faucet Filtration System (OPFF-100):
On our first attempt at installation, we discovered that the proper faucet adapter was not provided with the filter. We called the manufacturer as instructed in the directions and received the needed adapter in about one week. The filter was then simple to install. Perhaps some information on various faucets could be provided so that when we ordered we would have known to also order the extra adapter at the time we ordered the filter.
