By: Krysten C.
Allergies can make the lives of allergy sufferers somewhat miserable. Becoming knowledgeable about allergies, preventative methods, and ways to help kick symptoms to the curb, as well as planning for such allergies, are going to help ease the hassle of dealing with allergies. Take action against your allergies.
FIRST THINGS FIRST
You will never get anywhere with anything if you don’t first know what it is that you’re dealing with. Use the following graph to determine what kind of allergies you have, if any, and what triggers such allergies.
Before we jump to treatment measures, which can often times be rather costly, remember that prevention plays a big role in the treatment of allergies. The preventative measures discussed in Week 2 of our April Allergy Kit are going to make a big difference in how you’re able to manage your allergies.
Go through these preventative measures and build a list of things that you can do for yourself based on your specific allergy symptoms. Then start carrying out such suggestions and track the changes in the way that you feel. Don’t just vacuum, wash sheets, or avoid high pollen areas every once in a while. This isn’t an effective way to prevent allergies. Make these preventions a part of your life so that you can are able to actually stop and smell the roses.
If your allergies are still bothering you after carrying out your preventative routine, consider an over the counter allergy medication or medication prescribed by your health care provider or allergist. Build a allergy medical kit including some of the following:
Allergy eye drops
Allergy nasal spray
Antihistamine (drowsy and non-drowsy
Natural allergy medication
CATCH THE HYPE OF HEPA
Ever heard of a little thing called a HEPA filter? HEPA stands for High Efficiency Particulate Arrestor. HEPA filters are capable of removing up to 99.97% of ultra-fine particles in the air. This means that HEPA filters help remove the presence of secondhand smoke, pollen, mold spores, and other super small particles that cause you allergy problems.
This is why HEPA filters can play a big part in keeping the air you breathe clean. It’s recommended that you change your HEPA filter every 3-6 months, which follows seasonal changes and can serve as an easy reminder of other prevention methods you should be taking advantage of. Find your HEPA filter today.
WITH ALL THAT SAID…
You have the knowledge that you need to face your allergies and start fighting against them. Take action. Take back the life that allergies have stolen from you. Live healthy and breathe easy.
