Most filters seem to be a bit smaller than the actual insertion guides. It would be nice if there was a type of cardboard/ foam overlay on the outside edge of the unit creating more actual filtration.. as some always gets by. Or give us instructions as to best stop this from occurring.

We have over 20 pet birds & they produce a lot of "birdie foof". It's a fine, soft dust that gets into everything. But, these filters last for about 6 weeks and keep our air clean.

When a new refrigerator filter is installed, there may be some sputtering and spitting of water while air is forced out of the filter media. This is normal and will stop after the carbon media becomes saturated with water.
