If you have 20" X 20" X 5" filter boxes, these MERV 13 filters are great; very good for our high efficiency gas furnace (we don't have AC here in Portland, Oregon).
I buy two a year. I put one in 2 weeks after the heating season starts, in late October and another in late February. This allows the start-up in mid-October to drive latent duct dust and lint into last spring's filter, before I switch to the new one. The new one lasts 4 months, thru February. Then the second one goes 3-1/2 months, thru May, and stays in for the next 2-week start-up the next fall.

This is the best filter we've used. Expensive but worth it - picks up EVERYTHING in the airstream. We use two per year, installed at beginning of heating season (late October) and halfway thru (late January). We don't have A/C.
