My heating/cooling system uses this size which is not easily available. The fix in slot is reasonable snug. The center support struts are cardboard and these get hooked when removing the filter. This makes it a little more difficult to determine trapped dirt levels. Insertion is not an issue.

I think it is great that Discount Filters listed both the "nominal" dimensions and the actual dimensions. (Why should there be a difference?) Many other vendors listed only the "nominal" dimensions, which I assumed would not fit, as they were larger than the actual dimensions of my old filter, which were all I had to go on. Strange way to build and market a product, but Discount Filters at least made it understandable.

When replacing a new filter, flush about 2 gallons of water through the filter before drinking the water. This will eliminate any carbon particles leftover from the manufacturing process.
